The 2020 global pandemic has affected all spheres of our life. This influence has especially reflected the sphere of public catering. Restaurants, cafes, pizzerias, food courts have been closed for several months. At the moment, they are working, but have to follow necessary sanitary regulations.
RusHOLTS is an operator of coffee corners Vortex Coffee, so we also have to implement new rules at our regular work. Although Vortex Coffee is an ultra-modern solution based on IT technologies, we decided to add contactlessness to the coffee preparation process at all its stages.

For this reason, we have developed new modern solutions. Some of them are already integrated and available to users. For example, a service that allows visitors to scan a QR code and use a coffee menu right on their phones. Users will no longer have to press on the screen of the coffee machine, which will significantly reduce the risk of infection and help people feel more comfortable in the current situation. Another solution is still in the process of testing and integration. It is an automatic cup dispenser with anti-virus UV treatment. If we remember how a conventional glass dispenser looks and works, it becomes clear that it cannot provide any contactlessness at all. The glasses are in the public domain, any user can accidentally pull out several glasses at once without any extra effort, and put the extra glasses back into the dispenser. Therefore, we have developed a special closed chamber where glasses are stored. Before dispensing, each glass is treated with ultraviolet radiation, which is safe for humans, but destructive for different types of viruses. In this case, one glass is automatically issued to only one user.

At the moment, we have already implemented and launched a test dispenser in our laboratory. We plan to equip all Vortex Coffee modules with such dispensers in the spring of 2021. The current realities dictate new rules to the players. However, as practice shows, there are certain changes for the better. During the coronavirus period, technologies for reducing the number of contacts with any surrounding surfaces have become very popular. We believe that contactless Vortex Coffee will become even more preferred by its customers.
